The Sony Xperia E1 Dual is receiving a newfangled Android 4.4 KitKat firmware update that brings in better camera stability. The new build number is 20.1.B.2.15 and with it users can outshine themselves when taking pictures compared to what they could previously. In addition to the improved camera, you will find improved software stability, bug fixes and performance enhancements that make it surpass the last version. That means the overall OS will be noticeably smoother.
If you are residing in Europe, Asia and the Middle East this upgrade is coming your way. You can view the official change-log from this page.
Need I remind you that this is officially rolling out over the air. That means it’s not just PTCRB certified and it arriving as a notification to smartphones as we speak. You can wait for the system message to arrive for you or navigate your way to the Settings > Software Updates and check for the update that way. We recommend using a stable WiFi network for downloading instead of the mobile data since a great deal of people will be on the network installing the same update as you. That results in a less stable connection.
Furthermore, users can install the Helium for Android app from the Google Play Store and backup the existing applications if they feel like playing it safe. Enjoy the new firmware while it lasts since we remain without word on whether the E1 handsets are receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop. This might be the final stages of KitKat we see for this particular smartphone.
Tell us in the comments sections if this firmware was sent your way and if you’ve found any further changes that aren’t listed by Sony in the change-log.
