We can now root the ZTE V831W with the universal one-click rooting applications called KingRoot. When the KingRoot tool first came out it was dubbed the rooting tool that can root any Android device. That’s sounded too good to be true and eventually we found out it was. The developers then changed the name to the tool that can root nearly every Android device and that immediately made things far more confusing. Making matters even more difficult, the developers then called it the rooting tool that roots nearly all devices from the main 7 or 8 devices manufacturer’s only. Thankfully the ZTE OEM was one of those brands and there is a long list of devices this KingRoot tool unlocks. The developers of the universal one click rooting tool, namely KingRoot and Asian just like the ZTE brand and that could have something to do with their desire for knowing how to remove the factory restrictions for ZTE handsets or could be coincidence.

The Files You Need

  1. Download the universal one click rooting tool from this page.
  2. Installing the KingRoot package on your device does void the warranty on your device. You get three new apps on your ZTE smartphone after installing the APK during the guide. One of those apps is called the KingUser app and inside that app you will find the steps to unroot your device. Once you have unrooted the ZTE V831W, you get the warranty back again.
