Android software is ever-changing on each device. One of the issues which Google developers are likely never going to be able to stamp out is bugs in the system. There’s so much room for bugs in everything that’s developed that it’s almost impossible to remove the threat of lag and other issues from being created along with new firmware.
There is a common bug that’s going around many different version of Android software which force closes applications running on the smartphones and tablets. Please try again” message on the screen you are suffering from one of the force closing bugs which we know how to fix.
Follow the step by step guide below to learn how you can fix the same issue on your device. It’s a universal fix that’s in place for every device, so show all of your friends who are suffering from the same symptoms.
Make sure you backup the phone or tablet before starting the guide. We are performing a hard reset which wipes the ROM clean. That means you’ll lose any unsaved data. Those of you working with root access can take a Nandroid backup. If you are running official stock Android (or stock with bloatware) you can download and third-party application from the Google Play Store of your choice. We recommend trying out the Helium for Android backup app.
Alternatively, users can use the built-in backup function which happens from the device. Each manufacturer deploys a different backing up tool which is available from the Settings. Look up how that works for your specific device. There are too many devices for us to try to cover them all here.
Applying a factory reset with hard keys (stock Android)
- Turn on the device.
- Navigate to the Settings app.
- Select the backup and reset option.
- tap the factory reset option from the list.
- Boot up the device again and restore the data you backed up earlier.
- The problem should be fixed.
Apply a factory reset with root access
- Boot into the custom recovery of your choice (TWRP or ClockworkMod recovery)
- You can use apps to boot in recovery such as the Quick Boot app or the reboot manager app. Both are available from the Google Play store.
- Select the wipe or wipe data/factory reset option from the recovery menu. the wording varies depending on which recovery you are using.
- Go back and choose to wipe the cache partition.
- Access the advanced options menu and wipe the dalvik cache.
- Head back out to the main recovery menu and select the reboot system now option and boot the device in normal mode.
