If you are here reading this guide, you probably have several reasons to unroot your Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A (Korean). Maybe the apps are not working as good as they did before you rooted your device, or maybe your device is just crashing too often and you think it’s due to the root-access.
Whatever the reasons are, unrooting should help you get your device back to the stock firmware. Everything will be stock again on your device once you’ve done the following tutorial.
So, here’s how you can unroot and get your Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A (Korean) back to stock:
Files You Need
1. You need a Windows based computer to be able to do this tutorial.
2. Download and install Samsung USB drivers on your computer, if you don’t already have them.
3. Download Stock Firmware for the SM-G906S to your computer. It is the firmware that will be installed on your device.
4. Download Odin to your computer. It will be used to install firmware on your device.
5. This only works for SM-G906S device.
Unrooting the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A (Korean)
1. Right-click on both Stock Firmware and Odin one by one and select Extract here. It will extract the compressed files.
2. Launch Odin by double-clicking on its executable file.
3. Click on PDA in the Odin and select Stock Firmware that you extracted from the archive.
4. Checkmark both Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time in the Odin.
5. Uncheck Repartition in the Odin.
6. Turn off your device.
7. Reboot your device into download mode so that it works with the Odin. To do that, hold down Volume DOWN, Home, and Power buttons together.
8. Press Volume UP when you are prompted and you should enter download mode on your device.
9. Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable.
10. Click Start in the Odin and it will start installing stock firmware on your device.
11. Wait for the Odin to install stock firmware on your device.
12. When it’s done installing the firmware, your device should automatically reboot.
13. You’re now unrooted!
Your Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A (Korean) is now unrooted and is back to the stock firmware.
