If you want to stop the iPhone screen from rotating when using iOS 7, you can now do that. Back when we had the earlier generations of iPhone, such as the 3G, this was not an option. Many people would tilt the screen by accident, or even hold the iPhone upside down and this would cause it to change over to landscape. It took people a long time before they realized what was happening.
While this feature does still exist, luckily if we are running the new iOS 7 we can to turn it off. This is called the orientation lock option.
Settings Up Orientation Lock
1. Swipe the bottom of the screen. It doesn’t matter where you are, either from the home screen or the lock screen.
2. On the top of the screen will be some round styled buttons. The one to the far right is the orientation lock. It has circles followed by a lock in the middle.
3. Press the button and big red letters will appear on-screen. If it was off it will now say on and vise versa. If you want to change it again just press the option again to do so.
When you turn it to the on position there will be a notification sitting in the top bar forever now, next to your battery display. This should look like a smaller version of the same icon which you clicked on before.
