If you want to expand the way in which you use WhatsApp, you can now do that by using the popular app as a web client with the help from a new jailbreak tweak called the WhatsApp web enabler.
We all know how successful Mark Zuckerberg is with Facebook. The less tech savvy people out there might not know that his tech giant company is also buying other tech start-ups to either pair up with or use that technology in the future. Mark’s got a pretty good record with acquiring start-ups thus far too, one of which is the enormously popular text message application, WhatsApp.
WhatsApp works just like any other text messaging service that you know on your smartphones that come negatively such as iMessage or BB 10. However, it doesn’t come by default for any OEMs phone. Instead, users must download the app from the dedicated app stores. Once you have WhatsApp installed you might be interested in learning how to use it as a web client in the iPhone. Here’s how to do that:
HOW TO USE THE WHATSAPP WEB CLIENT IN IPHONE
1. Install the WhatsApp Web Enabler Cydia tweak on your iPhone.
2. Navigate over to the Settings menu where you’ll see a new “WhatsApp Web” button available.
3. Point your computer mouse over to ‘web.whatsapp.com’
4. Tap the new “WhatsApp Web” button from the Settings on the phone.
5. Scan the QR code on the screen from the web page listed above.
That’s all you have to do. The developer wants to push the tweak so it’s an official app available from the App Store in future. However, the Cupertino company is ruthless when it comes to Apple security and being in charge. Moreover, we know how much they hate jailbreaking. With that said, it’s also well documented that Apple do get their ideas from third-party developers making Cydia tweaks, so it’s not out of the question to see the app available in future.
