Windows and Metro went together for so long now that it’s easy to forget that they ever had anything else. Now, with the Nokia Normandy, it looks as though that trend is set to continue a while longer, at least because of new leaks that were sent in to Evleaks today show a Metro UI is on the way.
The render leak is showing the home screen, and although it does look a bit different, it’s just another version of what we already know.
There’s no need to take that as a negative thing. There was no reason to change it, and like I said, it’s almost become the face of Windows phones and it’s working well for them. All we are doing is simply confirming that it will continue that way for the Normandy handset that is on its way.
The interesting fact about this phone is that it will reportedly be running Android and not the Windows OS though, and that’s what makes it so interesting.
If you look at the picture shown, it has bigger tiles, and they are in a different shape, but it still shows a look that this device manufacturer has become famous for.
Things start to get complex if you choose to look into the situation deeper than that because Nokia was bought by Microsoft, but the official handover date won’t be soon enough to stop Android-based operating systems from appearing. In other words, it’s expected that the Redmond company will be upset that this is happening, and there’s not much they can do about it now. Some also say that there will be both Windows and Android version coming out as separate devices, both keeping the same specs. That is possible, and if it does happen, you could also expect MS to scrap the green robot version after their own Nokia. That’s something to think about before you buy this mobile.
It wasn’t long ago that we saw the Normandy leak in the red color. This picture here shows that included in the lineup, plus all the other colors that will be available. If you look closely on the side is also some slots that would imply a dual SIM Smartphone is coming.
