Following months of mock ups, dummies, rumors, supposed leaks, we finally saw the real iPhone 6 launch alongside the iPhone 6 Plus and countless folks were left disappointed. On one hand, Apple enthusiasts adored the idea of getting the bigger screen along with faster processing power of the A8 chipset, nevertheless Android fans were not impressed. Anyone holding the HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy S5, LG G2 or Sony Xperia Z2 has had the bigger display for a long time now — something that was the focal point of the Apple presentation. In many respects they are right and the new iPhone flagship for 2014 will be overpriced just like the last.
Samsung has a long history of poking fun at anything Apple when the chance arises and today that day was fitting according to them since they released a large series of short advertisements namely “It doesn’t take a genius,” aimed at taunting Apple with their latest lackluster handset.
Apart from the screen size that’s playing catch up to Droid fans, the iPhone 6 sports a 750 x 1334 resolution, while the iPhone 6 Plus has a 1080 x 1920 resolution. In today’s world, those numbers are nothing special. We know of 2K resolution displays coming the way of many handsets from rival competitors. Design-wise we didn’t observe anything special either. On the whole, the fruit company comes out with exceptionally elegant looking smartphones that persuade people to pay the high prices for them. Nonetheless, we didn’t notice anything special this time with bezels that are not thin and an overall look not far from what we see from the old HTC handsets with round edges. The single superior feature here is the phone is thin.
Anyway, the last few days since the launch have seen voluminous arguments and now it’s time to lighten up and watch some comedy no matter what side you are on. All and sundry should appreciate the facetious side to the ads Sammy threw out in the last 24 hours.
The fruit companies only impressive hardware feature was the new A8 SoC “built on a second-generation 64-built processor”. According to the graphs shown at the event it does excel ahead of the previous first generation built into the iPhone 5S. However, people have doubts if it is meaningful with merely 1 GB of RAM.
